Silver from Taxco, Mexico Combined with Turquoise from the "Turquoise Trail" of New Mexico

The city of Taxco in the Mexican state of Guerrero is one of the most important silver mining towns in the country.  It is also famous
for its remarkable beauty.  Although the Spanish maintained profitable mines in Taxco for many years, the production of silver
slowly began to decline before the early 20th century.  It wasn’t until the famous
William Spratling arrived that Taxco became once
again known for silver.  Spratling, a silversmith from the United States, helped to stimulate the local economy by making unusual
designs in silver based on pre-Columbian images.  Since then, Taxco has once again become synonymous with silver.

My wife and I met for the first time in Taxco.  When she visited me in Albuquerque, New Mexico, she was impressed by the
beautiful turquoise jewelry produced in New Mexico. In Mexico, turquoise is not very common and can be quite expensive. My wife
enjoys making jewelry and it wasn’t until this year that it occurred to us to combine the famous silver of Taxco with turquoise to
create these wonderfully unique pieces of jewelry.  We have since started a small sale of jewelry here in Mexico City, and hope to
start selling these same products in the United States in early 2006.  If you have any questions about these products, please write
